About ESSK2 Bone Health

Patent No:

National Invention Patent for Patented Strain and Production Method of Vitamin K2 (MK-7)

A Bacillus Subtilis Natto and a Method for Producing MK-2

(Patent NO.ZL 2019 1 0593690.9)

Description:

Vitamin K2 contributes to bone and cardiovascular health. There are two vitamin K2 homologues, menaquinone-4 (MK-4) and menaquinone-7 (MK-7), that have been used as nutrients by the food industry and as nutritional supplements to support bone and cardiovascular health.

MK-4 is a shorter-chain of menaquinone, primarily found in animal products; whilst, MK-7 is a long-chain menaquinone found in natto, a traditional Japanese fermented soy food. MK-7 is generally considered more bioavailable and has a longer half-life in the body compared to MK-4.

Purity and Quality:

Natural Vitamin K2 produced by SungenBio is 100% all trans Vitamin K2 (MK-7) with the highest activity and a very high affinity for the human body. The internal control index is higher than ESP 39-NF34 standard. The ratio of trans vitamin K2 (MK-7) is ≥  98%

Clinical Study:

Bone Health

A study “The relationship between vitamin K2 intake and Osteoporosis” has been investigated by SungenBio & Shenyang Pharmaceutical University. The research indicated that Vitamin K2 enhances osteocalcin transformation and improves the deposition of calcium into bones. Vitamin K2 has been proven effective for the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis.

transformation and improves the deposition of calcium into bones. Vitamin K2 has been proven effective for the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis.

A study “3 year low dose menaquinone-7 supplementation helps decrease bone loss in healthy postmenopausal women” in 2013 confirmed that osteocalcin is carboxylated by vitamin K2. Vitamin K2 supplementation reduces serum concentrations of under—carboxylated osteocalcin and helps decrease bone loss.
