Description
Ovopron® is oral passive immunity from chicken egg yolk immunoglobulin IgY. IgY is known as mammalian IgG homolog. It is more heavily glycosylated than mammalian IgG and has significant effects on protein stability, sensitivity to proteases, immunogenicity, and biological activity. IgY can be used as a natural and cost-effective molecule providing passive immune protection against various pathogens including bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites.
- Reduced bacterial colonization and pathogenicity in patients with gastric ulcer
- Reduced the duration and severity of diarrhea
- Reduced the number of pathogens and inhibit bacterial growth in oral and dental health
- Alternative to antibiotic treatment as antibiotic therapy sometimes fail due to antibiotic resistance
Supports
- Gastrointestinal

Animal Study
Result showed that numerous rod-shaped H. pylori attached to the AGS cells’ surfaces, when cells were cultured with H. pylori (Fig. (Fig.6B).6B). On the other hand, the number of adhering H. pylori organisms dramatically decreased when cells were pretreated with IgY-Hp (Fig. (Fig.6C6C). The study demonstrates that IgY-Hp prepared from the egg yolk of hens is effective in the treatment of H. pylori infections.
Clinical Study
H.Pylori heavily infected volunteers were selected to run the test. Each volunteer consumed 1 cup of IgY (40mg IgY) Yogurt twice daily for 12 weeks. Result showed 55.1% and 57.2% reduction in UBT (Urea Breath Test) values after 8 and 12 weeks, respectively.
